Layne Markets for Walden Media

Layne McDonald (Founder of LWM Studios) teams up with Walden Media and Fox to market “City of Ember”, a feature film due out on October 10, 2008. The film is an adaptation of a Children’s book classic and brings children and parents together in a very powerful film about believing in a better future. Bill Murray (“Ghost Busters”, “What About Bob?”), Tom Hands (“Castaway”, “Polar Express”, “Forest Gump”) and more bring this amazing story to life.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us,” mentions the 29 year old filmmaker (marketing director) as a smaller studio, to help the “Big Guys” (Walden/Fox) with a wonderful family film. We are happy to use our creative tools to push the advertising to more people that might not know about the film. There aren’t that many days left, so we are working hard and using everything we have to make sure the online marketing works decently.”

LWM Studios is working on editing interviews, footage, and graphics, then producing online marketing media that will help bring the film’s actors, sets, and other footage to the viewers through an online, interactive, flash player. The media will be “Viral” enabled in order to let viewers share it with friends and to reach the most people as possible.

“The film is an original book series. It is a story that has not been told in the film format and should bring a new creative world to children and parents alike. Personally, I think it will sell itself, but getting the word out won’t hurt.”

This week, leading up to the October 10th release, LWM Studios will be releasing new media every day, monitoring the online viewing and reporting all statistics to Walden Media.

Be watching LWM Studios social networks, the main website, and these blogs for new media to be posted daily. Spread the word about the movie, read the book, and go see the adaptation at the theaters next weekend. For more information, please to go www.cityofember.com. Film School and God

It has been a while since I have updated these blogs. It has been a very busy road to Hollywood and I am loving every minute of it. The blessings I have been given, just getting out here are amazing, and now it is time to show what I can do. This is my first week in the LA FILM SCHOOL and it has been very interesting. After eight years of being out of school (last one being the Art Institute of Atlanta) and running my own studio for the past ten years, it is really hard to get back into the groove of school. It is slower that I am use too, but that should prove to be a good thing, as I am able to work on tons of projects at once and help out as many other students as possible. It is great to meet other Classmates with the same faith focus as I do. I pray God uses us all to do mighty projects that will help many people in need. My main goal is to make the best projects with great meaning to them. If these projects can go to film festivals, speak to the hearts of the culture and h

Changing Hollywood for Families

IndieCross Studios was formed to change Hollywood for families. Period. That is the reason for everything we do. The first episode of our new webisode series, "Makin It LA" is exactly that. From networking with passionate writers, actors, and filmmakers, to making films that they can showcase their talent with. From talking to families and viewers to see what they want to give them high-quality alternatives delivered straight to their televisions, computers, and mobile devices. This is a brand new way of doing "Hollywood". We are listening to the viewers, giving artists an outlet, and distributing the films directly to the people who want them. If you want to join the cause, go to www.indiecross.com, find out more about us, and get involved. We are changing lives in Hollywood, giving families what they want and building a "new way" of doing films. :) Layne McDonald
