Working on finishing a documentary this week. It has been great getting back into the swing of things.

The documentary Layne McDonald produced, directed, shot and edited is schedule to make its debut on the IMDB (www.imdb.com) website, a year after it was debuted on world-wide broadcast television. The delay has had a lot to do with his move to Hollywood, California and his continuing education at the Los Angeles Film School. Recently Layne McDonald has been apart of a talents group of filmmakers and is getting ready to produce a few short films in testing for a bigger production for a major television network. More on this soon!

Documentary to be up on IMDB in a month! Exciting.

Layne McDonald's 2008 Editor's Reel is up on his site at www.laynemcdonald.com, but there is a new one on it's way and it is nice! Layne has been working hard on the style and it is not 10 minutes anymore. As most Hollywood Producers know... and Layne has found out... reels need to be quick... super quick. In August 2010, be looking for a new Editor's Reel that is two minutes and less with tons of great graphics and video. He is packing a lot in to a small amount of time and it is looking really great! Layne McDonald will be Assistant Editor on a new film called "The Human Factor". The name recently changed from "The Throwaways", after the tragic passing of Corey Haim (the Director). I am pretty new to Hollywood. Only six months in, but I have already picked up fifteen projects and going strong. I have upgraded every editing system I have (3) to Avid 5 and Final Cut Studio 3 and the projects are going smooth. Thanks for all the support! My volunteers will be posting a lot of stuff to the blogs, in the coming weeks. I tend to be caught up by projects (a great thing!) so they are going to take over. Working on post-production for an indie this week. Should be fun getting back into the swing of things.

Layne McDonald gets hired to edit three feature films. The first one is called "The Throwaways" and he is acting as the Assistant Editor. The second is a first person thriller, and is an indie film, from the same Director. The third will be a feature film, produced by Layne's studio, IndieCross Studios, about a girl dealing with the divorce of her parents. There is a short film in the mix, but the features have come within a month. We will have more coming on these productions, as post-production begins. It has been a while since I have updated these blogs. It has been a very busy road to Hollywood and I am loving every minute of it. The blessings I have been given, just getting out here are amazing, and now it is time to show what I can do. This is my first week in the LA FILM SCHOOL and it has been very interesting. After eight years of being out of school (last one being the Art Institute of Atlanta) and running my own studio for the past ten years, it is really hard to get back into the groove of school. It is slower that I am use too, but that should prove to be a good thing, as I am able to work on tons of projects at once and help out as many other students as possible. It is great to meet other Classmates with the same faith focus as I do. I pray God uses us all to do mighty projects that will help many people in need.
