Layne McDonald (Founder of LWM Studios) teams up with Walden Media and Fox to market “City of Ember”, a feature film due out on October 10, 2008. The film is an adaptation of a Children’s book classic and brings children and parents together in a very powerful film about believing in a better future. Bill Murray (“Ghost Busters”, “What About Bob?”), Tom Hands (“Castaway”, “Polar Express”, “Forest Gump”) and more bring this amazing story to life. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us,” mentions the 29 year old filmmaker (marketing director) as a smaller studio, to help the “Big Guys” (Walden/Fox) with a wonderful family film. We are happy to use our creative tools to push the advertising to more people that might not know about the film. The first of two IndieCross CDs will be released in digital download and CD formats in late September. Produced by Layne McDonald, these song collections will be geared toward sharing the best of the independent christian artists across the country. The first CDs are mainly southern bands, but plans to expand the projects in coming years also cover Canada and English speaking musicians in Mexico. "This is an exciting time in Christianity. The passion to spread the message in love and without judgement is seeing much success." A local church has already witnessed over 7,000 baptisms this year, in Birmingham, Alabama. LWM Studios hopes that these CDs will help aid the effort to convert the country back to a God through love, grace, and hope for a better place for future generations. "This music is made to heal. The two hour show will be hosted by Layne and will feature twenty minute stretches of music, following quick messages by Layne about events, media, and faith-based messages. The show is a spin off of Layne's past radio show, called Club 139 Radio, which was aired in New York for a couple of months. LWM Studios has seen immense growth in online community support. A late night talk show is in production. "Lights Out" will be shot in front of a live studio audience with comedy skits, live bands, a house band, special guests, and much more! Layne McDonald will host this massive production with some of the most talented writers, actors, bands, and production studio professionals around. The show is set to begin live shoots in October. PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release July 16, 2008 “LWM Studios to Release Short Film” LWM Studios, a brand new Film and TV Studio in Birmingham, Alabama, will be releasing its first official original short film in October 2008. The film features some of the top actors working in the local area and takes the viewers on a strange trip through a pet shop in a fictional town called Weirdville. The script and film were personally financed by Layne McDonald, a 28 year-old filmmaker, award winning published author, actor, and the owner of LWM Studios. The Pet Shop, shot in Alabaster and Hoover, has a four year history of production. The actual footage was completed in the Summer of 2004. Personal tragedy kept this ambitious independent filmmaker from completing his “passion” project and has taken him until now to get back on his feet. He sees the completion of this production as a victory over the trials that he has faced in the last five years. “This has been a passion project, a way to
